We need a montage
Every girl gave/received at least one best-friends-forever photomontage during adolescence; it was a right of passage. Gwong Osang has taken the humble collage one step further and transformed it into a series of whimsical sculptures. His pieces are layered with hundreds of reassembled photographs and then lacquered resulting in a wildly intriguing mix of 2 and 3D art. His sculptures are also very lightweight, a point of importance for Gwong Osang, ‘I will never make anything that a friend and I can’t easily move’. We like how he thinks.
